Watermelon Freeze

So, I guess we went for a bit too long without replacing the smoke detector near our kitchen or I am just a bad cook. Today, I set it off 4 times while making dinner.   And, to answer the question, we did eat the chicken.  Nice and brown- totally rubbery.  Honestly, I was not the one to coin the phrase.  Someone was just as bad, way before I came along.

"Blizzard conditions will continue through the morning hours over southern Wisconsin...especially in areas east of a Lone Rock...to Berlin line. The snow is persisting in the far southeastern counties...with Milwaukee...Racine and Kenosha receiving between 1 and 2 inches per hour. The snow is expected to remain moderate to heavy through mid morning...before diminishing by noon. In addition to the snow...strong winds...with gusts between 40 and 55 mph will continue...lasting through this afternoon. The winds in combination with the snow will create near whiteout conditions this morning. This will make for very dangerous driving conditions. Blizzard Warning in effect until noon CST today... " Oh yeah, but WAIT.    I have off on Wednesdays....I guess I will be shoveling snow today!  :)

I realize there is a blizzard everywhere and we probably have a good 7-10 inches out there. I realize schools are letting out early. I realize children need to be picked up and the roads are getting icy. I realize that tonight and tomorrow are supposed to be worse. I realize the local news has to get a jump on scaring everyone before their competitors do if for them. ...but do THEY REALIZE: Oprah is on her LAST season? I only have two days off a week to watch Oprah? I do NOT have TiVo or a DVR and my VCR is still flashing 12:00- so I cannot tape Oprah? Oprah is NOT available anywhere online to watch? ...but most of all- do they realize that replaying today's Oprah show at 12:30 tomorrow MORNING  so they can begin the 5 o'clock news cast at 4pm, show us videos of it snowing outside (when I can just look out my own window) and get random citizen's opinions of snowy weather (which, why the heck are they out there and do I really care if they like the big white flu...
