Quarantine

Well, my last post was 2012, so it seems i am a tad behind.  HA

Coronovirus COVID-19 QUARANTINE 2020   is what has gotten this start back up. I need to journal what is going on at home, work (home) and school (home).   More just to keep track and not necessarily for anyone else to pay attention to.

On Monday, March 9th, I traveled to Philadelphia for a work trip - actually then trained it to Atlantic City for the Tri State Camp Conference.  The virus was just going crazy at this time and we ended up being directed to come home a day early.  4i wanted us as grounded as we possible could be.  We cleaned up the trade show early (NEVER happens) and headed back home on Thursday.    Brandon had school on Friday, but Friday afternoon, the state also announced all schools were going to have a mandatory shut down from 3/18- 4/6.

I worked at home on Friday, March 13th and we all chatted about how crazy this was, all weekend long.
Sat was my birthday and we went to a fundraiser at the shack in Fond du Lac - not the most responsible thing to do, in hindsight.

Monday, March 16th, I went to work (really, the office) and caught up things there.  Caitlin, my coordinator, and I had not seen each other in a week and a half, so a little catch up was warranted.

Tuesday, March 17th was St Patty's Day and my official first QUARANTINE day.  To be honest, I could be home all the time and really not get bored.   I have always been a homebody.  Even though i travel for work all of the time and love it, i love being home just as much.  I could putz on projects around the house or pretend i am making art for hours, or days, even.  I never feel caught up (with the exception of my email right now. It's actually frightening).

So, here is my attempt at journalling what happens during this crazy pandemic.   Last week, we rollerbladed and walked dogs, played on ice shoves and disinfected the house multiple times.

Today, we walked the dogs, did homeschooling (official day #1 - boy, i need some practice in patience - God Bless our Teachers)
and our fun activity is going to be getting my pottery wheel set up for our "art class" tomorrow.   Brandon is really looking forward to it, as am I.  Oh, i must not forget my biggest accomplishment----i cut his hair with a clipper.  I used to cut his hair all the time when he was younger, but he had curly, long hair so honestly, it was easy.   This was a bit more challenging, but it turned out great - (for the first time)!

Since Brandon is now in 6th grade, (wow, can you believe it?) and we are doing remote learning, he needs to a virus journal and keep track of what is going on in our day-to-day lives.  This blog may be the perfect thing for that.   Some posts will be Jen and some will be Brandon.  Let's see how good we are and how much we keep on track.  :)
